Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about online CPR certification.

Is online CPR certification accepted by employers?

Most employers accept online CPR certification. However, some industries — particularly licensed childcare, clinical healthcare, and certain government roles — require an in-person hands-on component. Always confirm with your employer or licensing board before purchasing. Our Terms and the course page both explain this upfront.

How long does the course take?

Most students complete the course in 30 to 90 minutes. You can start and stop at any time and your progress is saved automatically. The course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What does the course cover?

The course covers Adult, Child and Infant CPR, First Aid for common injuries and emergencies, and AED operation. Content follows current American Heart Association guidelines.

Is there a final exam?

Yes. After completing all video lessons you will take a final exam. You must pass to receive your certificate. The exam tests your understanding of CPR techniques, First Aid procedures, and AED use.

How much does it cost?

Individual certification is $25. Employers and organizations can purchase bulk seats at $25 per seat with a 5-seat minimum. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees.

How do I get my certificate?

Your certificate is available for immediate download as a PDF the moment you complete all lessons and pass the final exam. There is no waiting period. You can download and share it with your employer right away.

Are you affiliated with the American Red Cross or AHA?

No. Samson Strong CPR is an independent training provider. Our curriculum is designed to align with American Heart Association and Red Cross guidelines, but we are not endorsed by or affiliated with either organization. This is stated clearly in our Terms.

Does the CPR certification expire?

CPR certifications are generally valid for 2 years. Most employers and regulatory bodies require renewal every 1 to 2 years. Your certificate shows the issue date and expiration date. We will email you renewal reminders as your expiration approaches.

Can employers buy certification for their entire team?

Yes. Our bulk seat package lets employers purchase seats in advance and share a single enrollment link with their team. Each employee completes the course at their own pace and receives their own certificate. Employers can track every completion from a central dashboard.

What if my employer does not accept the certificate?

We recommend confirming with your employer before purchasing. Our Terms are clear that all sales are final, including in cases where an employer does not accept the certificate. If you are unsure whether your employer will accept online certification, ask them first.

Who built this course?

The course was built by Dean Martin, a certified CPR and First Aid instructor with a background in fire service training, EMT education, and emergency response. Samson Strong CPR is operated by Samson Strong LLC in Oregon.

What devices can I use?

The course works on any device with a modern browser — desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. No downloads or apps required.
